Leonard J. Taylor — Claims Consultant
Leonard Taylor is originally from New Orleans, La. He moved from New Orleans to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.
Upon graduation in 1993, Leonard joined CIGNA P&C as a Claims Adjuster in the Management Trainee program. In just over one year, Leonard was assigned to Anheiser Busch, the largest client handled out of the Georgia claims office. During this period, he was designated as the leader and facilitator of the Office Climate Committee and chaired the office process improvement team. As a result of his success with large national accounts, Leonard was promoted to a dedicated position overseeing Levi Strauss & Co. During his tenure as Dedicated Specialist to Levi's, he developed a unique transitional duty program that significantly reduced the period of lost time associated with carpal tunnel and other repetitive motion injuries.
In 1998, Leonard joined ManagedComp as a Claims Supervisor. During his first year with the company he developed a claims workflow process that significantly increased productivity in the Georgia office. Many regional offices adapted this procedure. In addition to his claims supervisory duties, Leonard led several sales efforts, one of which led to a acquiring a key client in the southeastern region. In less than one year Leonard was promoted to a position overseeing all aspects of ManagedComp's largest account, ESI. As Executive Claims Account Manager, Leonard worked on-site at ESI's headquarters in Phoenix, AZ. He developed a claims audit format/procedure that was adapted by the claims offices and incorporated into their fundamental quality review program. He also developed guidelines for ESI's clients which drastically increased the number of workers who were returned to transitional duty jobs.
In 2000 Leonard joined Risk Management Partners in Calabasas, Ca. to oversee and monitor a large third party administrator handling a national workers compensation account. He worked directly with the claims handlers on all aspects of the claims process including investigations, nurse case management and reserving.
