Thomas M. Daly — Chief Executive Officer

Tom's insurance career began in 1977 as a field claims adjuster in the New York Contracting Office of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, a national carrier specializing in general liability, umbrella and workers compensation business for construction risks.

In 1981 Tom joined the Skandia America Reinsurance Corporation as reinsurance claims analyst handling workers compensation, automobile, ocean marine and medical malpractice accounts.

In 1984 Tom accepted the position of Assistant Vice President of Claims for Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Company with the task of starting up a reinsurance claims operation. During his tenure, Tom was instrumental in creating the Yasuda Re Management Company and was appointed to the Board of Directors.

Tom was offered the position of Vice President of Claims with Chartwell Reinsurance Company in 1990 and was asked to restaff and restart the claims department upon relocation from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Stamford, Connecticut. During his tenure, Tom was appointed to the Board of Directors of Chartwell Advisors, Ltd., a consulting firm created to provide underwriting and claims services to New London Capital, a newly created corporate capital vehicle at Lloyd's.

Subsequent to the Chartwell Re acquisition of the Archer Managing Agency at Lloyd's, Tom became responsible for evaluating claims the operations of all existing syndicates including claims arising in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Tom was also appointed to the Committee of Inspection for the Focus Insurance Company in Liquidation where he represented the interests of Chartwell and worked extensively with the Bermuda Liquidators, the accounting firm of Coopers & Lines.

In September of 2000, Tom joined the Alea Group to enhance and develop the reinsurance claims department of the North American franchises. He was subsequently promoted to Chief Administration Officer and placed in charge of office and facilities management.

In September of 2002, Tom formed his own claims consulting firm, Thomas M. Daly & Associates and was retained by the Alea Group to provide claims services on insurance business written by Alea North America, as well as reinsurance business written by the London, Bermuda and Toronto, Canada franchises.

In 2003, Tom received his arbitrator certification from A.R.I.A.S., the A.I.D.A. Reinsurance & Insurance Arbitration Society.
